I found this butterfly with a distinctive pattern that looks like the number 88 in the Argentina side of Iguazu Falls. The 88 butterflies (“diaethria clymena”) are found in Southern America and largely Amazonian or Andean. Natives see these butterflies as a sign of good luck.
Interestingly, the Chinese also see the number 88 as a good luck number as the number 8 in Mandarin and other Chinese languages sounds similar to the word for “wealth”. And the number 88 looks like the double infinity symbol. If you see them, consider yourself lucky!
